Michael’s passion for photography started at 11 years old, with a plastic camera, 120 film, and the family bathroom doubling as a darkroom. He went on to photograph weddings, model portfolios and portraits before moving to New Zealand in 1988, where he worked as a professional child photographer.
Since then, Michael has focused on photojournalism and has been a regular contributor to outdoor magazines, specialising in fly fishing. His passion for the sport has taken him across New Zealand and to many international destinations, combining his love of photography and the outdoors.
Alongside photography, Michael has worked technical sales, in roles ranging from technician to Managing Director. These experiences have given him a broad understanding of business and a genuine appreciation for people. He is also a proud father of two grown-up sons, both currently studying at university.
What Michael loves most about his role is connecting with customers and creating happy, satisfied people who appreciate the creativity, care and passion behind each image.
Michael is a natural communicator who makes people feel comfortable and helps them choose the best of the images on display.
Outside of work, Michael values family, adventure and meeting interesting people — all of which continue to inspire him.
